Fleet Feet Fox Valley Weather Policy
Your Safety Comes First
We carefully monitor current and forecasted weather conditions when deciding whether to cancel or modify a training program workout, group run, or event.
If weather looks questionable, weather-related announcements and cancellations will be posted 1–2 hours before the scheduled start time. For example, if you have a 6:00 PM workout, please check back around 4:00 PM for the latest update.
Updates will also be shared on Facebook and, when possible, sent directly to your email inbox.
Air Quality
Fleet Feet Fox Valley uses the AirNow Air Quality Index (AQI) when evaluating air quality conditions.
- AQI over 150: Group training sessions and events will be canceled.
- AQI 101–150: We will proceed with a less vigorous workout. We strongly recommend that individuals use their personal discretion, particularly those who are part of a sensitive group.

- Actual temperature of 0°F or below
- Windchill of -12°F or below
- Thunderstorms with lightning present
- Dangerous travel or running conditions, including ice storms, hail, extremely poor visibility, or other hazardous conditions
We will NOT cancel a session simply because it is raining or snowing. You never know what may happen on race day, so let's be prepared for anything!
Summer & Severe Weather Policy

“Wait and See” Policy
Sometimes bad weather is forecasted but the timing or severity is uncertain, such as summer afternoon thunderstorms.
In these situations, we may post a “Wait and See” status.
A “Wait and See” status means the workout is still scheduled, but conditions will continue to be monitored. Please understand that we may cancel, delay, modify, or end a session on-site if weather conditions make it necessary.
Participant Safety & Workout Modifications
Ultimately, each participant is responsible for deciding whether they feel safe and comfortable participating.Weather affects everyone differently, so please use your best judgment based on your personal health, experience, and comfort level.
Fleet Feet Fox Valley may shorten, delay, relocate, modify, or cancel a workout based on current conditions. We reserve the right to cancel or modify an activity at any time, including after a session has started if conditions become hazardous.
Weather watches, warnings, and advisories may also influence our decision, even if a specific temperature or weather threshold has not been reached.
We typically reference the National Weather Service and AirNow when evaluating weather and air-quality conditions.
Weather Cancellation Communication
We aim to post weather-related cancellations or changes 1–2 hours before the scheduled start time whenever possible. However, rapidly changing conditions may require a last-minute decision.
