Details to come for our 2023 CIM Training Program
Welcome to Fleet Feet Folsom & Roseville's California International Marathon (CIM) Training. This program is designed to help both new and experienced runners reach their marathon goals in a positive and fun group environment.
The California International Marathon - CIM takes place on Sunday, December 4th, 2022. This 26.2-mile run starts in Folsom and ends at our state's capitol building! This race has a net elevation loss and is one of the country's best Boston Marathon qualifiers! It is a fast marathon course and a great first or 20th marathon course.
While this marathon training program is filled with perks at its core – experienced coaches, goal-based training plans, insights from CIM insiders, and premium race day experiences – it is really about building a community of people who share a passion and want to work together to reach their goals. This program is about encouraging and motivating one another to do your best. Whether you are looking to finish, improve or perform, this program will leave you a smarter, healthier, and happier runner.

The training is designed to increase week to week so you build slowly, steadily, and consistently towards your goals. The Wednesday workouts consist of intensity such as intervals, hills, and tempo to improve your fitness. The Sunday workouts will build endurance towards the goal race distance.
Your training schedule will include workouts for you to do on your own throughout the week which will help you see more progress. If you can’t make a workout, you will have the schedule to continue to follow the plan.
Coaches and special guests will educate you in person and in the weekly emails on warm ups, mobility, nutrition, hydration, how to prepare for race day, injury prevention, and more. They are also a resource and support for you along the way.

I started running in 2003 when the challenge of a triathlon piqued my interest. I loved the variety and challenge of multi-sport training. After competing in several triathlons and duathlons, I transitioned into long distance running with Shamrock’n being my first half marathon. I have since experienced the joy of racing countless 5k, 10k, 15k, half marathon, marathon, 50k, and 50 mile trail runs.
Running brings me great joy and I love sharing the sport with others and my family. I began coaching in 2010 as a youth cross country coach for kids ages 9-13.
I joined the Fleet Feet coaching team in 2017. I have had the honor of coaching:
- Limitless 5k/10k program
- Shamrock’n Half Marathon group
- Youth Summer Running program
- Spring Trail 10k/half marathon program
- CIM Marathon training program
- Summer Speed School
I enjoy encouraging both new and experienced runners to accomplish their goals. I am always continuing my education to be the best coach and mentor possible. RRCA level 2 and USATF certifications are in progress. Together we can train smart, have fun and cross the finish line!

My running career started in middle school when my youth soccer coach suggested I try out for the cross country team; I won my first race and have stuck with the sport ever since. I ran locally for Woodcreek High School, then I went on to race collegiately for UC Davis Cross Country and Track where I specialized in the 3000m Steeplechase, a track race that includes hurdling 28 barriers and 7 barriers with a water pit! After concluding my collegiate career, I began volunteer coaching for Davis High School where I supported the women’s team to a 5th place showing at the CA State Cross Country meet. Over the last decade, this led to several coaching positions working with athletes ranging from middle school to college, including time at Roseville High School as the Head Cross Country and Track Coach.
Personally, I continued to race with the Sacramento Running Association (SRA Elite). Some of my favorite races included the Club Cross Country PA Championships, Lake Tahoe Relays, and the State Street Mile. In 2018, I finally got the itch to race a marathon and made my debut at CIM in 3:35:54. The next fall in 2019, I joined the CIM training group through Fleet Feet Folsom/Roseville to help focus my training and chase a Boston Qualifier (BQ) time. The group helped train me to a coveted BQ and a 15-minute personal best in the marathon at 3:20:47. I fulfilled a long-time running dream when I finished the 126th Boston Marathon in spring 2022.
