The goal of this 5K program is to build a strong running foundation that will help you in reaching your goals of a faster 5K. This will be done through working on three different aspects of racing: speed, endurance, and strength. This will be built through a training plan that will not only focus on running but weight training that will help you reach your goals. Each race will be a step forward to getting faster and helping you achieve goals with a group of people supporting you and cheering you on every step of the way.
Each week you will receive a running and weight training plan. Along with this training plan there will be one to two group training sessions each week that will prepare you for your race and give you encouragement along the way.
Race entries are not included in the training program fee. We recommend registering for all 3 5Ks in the YMCA's Fall Race Series (Creepy Crawl 5K, Turkey Trot 5K, and Jingle Jog 5K) to track your progress and get stronger!
