Meet Coach Randy

Randy a product of Central Ohio. He studied Music Education at Ohio University and later served in the Army and the National Guard as a musician.  A little known, but amazing fact is that Randy has performed on stage at Carnegie Hall and marched in Ronald Reagan's first Inaugural Parade.

Randy later changed directions and is now an IT guy (Systems Analyst) with Motorists Insurance in downtown Columbus. Randy has two sons who have been a constant source of enjoyment and amusement for me. One majored in Sports Industry at OU while the other is currently the head JV Baseball Coach at Thomas Worthington High School.

Randy started running marathons in 2000 with the hope that he would improve his fitness level and test his fortitude. He had no idea that running would have such a huge affect on his life. Not only has it improved his fitness level, self-esteem, motivation, and attitude, but it has surrounded him with an incredible group of friends who faithfully support each other.

Randy joined MIT around 2002 and is now entering into his 7th year of coaching.

Randy looks forward to every run with his MIT family and enjoys giving back to a sport that continually has given so much to him.

To date I have completed 25 Marathons (including the Wineglass Marathon in Western NY while the USMC Marathon in DC remains his favorite) and equally as many Half Marathons!

Change your life. One mile at a time!
