The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33 Is Here And We Have It In Stores
The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus turns 33 this year making it the longest running performance running shoe in the Nike franchise and one of the longest in the running industry. So what makes it so great?
According to Nike CEO Mark Parker, the Pegasus had one simple goal when it was created, "to design a more accessibly priced every person's Air training shoe."
The idea was, “to design a more accessibly priced every person’s Air training shoe.”
Thirty-three years later, the Pegasus Air Zoom 33 does just that. At a manageable price of $110, the Pegasus is an affordable option for most runners with a neutral foot strike. The shoe is used by a variety of runners from World Champion Mo Farah to staff members who just picked up running. This is mainly due to its combination of quickness, flexibility, and its perfectly added cushioning amount.
Taking after the looks of its predecessors, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 32 & 31, the shoe is similar in looks boasting the signature Nike swoosh on the side heel panel, Flywire upper and lacing system, and mesh heel counter but that's where the similarities stop. This year, the Pegasus made a few changes to make it even better. Take a look at some of the specs and features below.
New Features
- Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel provide low-profile, responsive cushioning.
- Heel is radiused and tapers on the lateral side to promote a natural range of motion.
- Grooves cut into the crash rail are cut horizontally and vertically to enhance grip.
- Waffle pistons in the rubber outsole help absorb impact and provide multi-surface traction. Lugs have been turned sideways from the previous version to enhance cushioning.

Small cutouts in the rubber expose the Cushlon midsole to increase outsole flexibility.
