Make It a Mile is a four-week walking/running program designed to help beginners take the first steps to getting healthy by completing one mile. The program includes a safe, guided training plan designed to allow you to work at your own pace in a non-threatening, non-judgmental environment. At the end of the four weeks, you'll be mentally and physically able to complete one mile. We encourage participants to exercise at their own comfortable pace. This is a beginner walking or walk/run program but can also be used to get a little extra distance before our Beginner 5K and 4 Mile: FINISH training program.
Training will begin January 7th at 6:30 pm in our Carrboro Store! The Info Session will be held on Thursday, January 2nd at 6:30 pm at our Carrboro store.
We make getting active an attainable goal, so get your walking shoes and let's start moving! Your program will include:
- 4-week training schedule
- Group workouts on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm (Fleet Feet Carrboro), Wednesdays at 6:30 pm (Fleet Feet Durham) and Saturdays at 8:30 am (alternating between the two stores)
- A weekly email with training tips, nutrition and other educational information
- The camaraderie of others with the same goal
- For those who come to 6 of the workouts we'll credit you the cost of the program towards your next Fleet Feet Running Club program!
