Make It a Mile is a four-week walking/running program designed to help beginners take the first steps to getting healthy by completing one mile. The program includes a safe, guided training plan designed to allow you to work at your own pace in a non-threatening, non-judgmental environment. At the end of the four weeks, you'll be mentally and physically able to complete one mile. We encourage participants to exercise at their own comfortable pace. This is a beginner walking or walk/run program but can also be used to get a little extra distance before our Beginner 5K and 4 Mile: FINISH training program.
Starts January 7th at 6:30 pm!
Our Beginner 5K + 4 Mile: FINISH program focuses on beginners, but all levels of walkers and runners are welcome. The program is structured to help you cross the finish line of your first race in just 10 weeks! It can also help existing runners meet new performance goals.
- Information Session: Tuesday, February 4th at 6:30 pm at Fleet Feet Carrboro
- Season Starts: Tuesday, February 11th at 6:30 pm (Carrboro) or Wednesday, February 12th at 6:30 pm (Durham)
- Season Logistics: Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in Carrboro, Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in Durham, and Saturday Mornings at 8 am alternating between the two stores.
- Goal Race: The Great Human Race on March 28th, 2020 and the Fleet Feet 4 Miler on April 18th, 2020.
