Free triathlon training plans are everywhere on the internet. All of them share a couple major flaws: 1) they assume equal ability in all three sports and 2) they are not created around your "A" races or weekly schedule. An alternative is hiring a coach to create a customized plan, but that comes with a hefty price tag.
Professional triathlete and USA Triathlon certified coach Chris Sweet will guide participants in this 1.5 hour workshop through creating a properly periodized, custom triathlon season training plan. This plan will be built around your "A" events and will take into account your weekly commitments. It will provide the proper structure for the season and will specify when you should be doing certain types of workouts (base, endurance, interval work, etc). After the session the athlete will need to plug in each week's specific workouts.
Participants will need to come with a short list of season goals and what they think their A, B, and C priority events will be (warning these may change!). It is also useful to have dates for things like family commitments and work travel available. We will provide paper calendars to work from. You can also work from a blank calendar on a laptop or tablet if you prefer.
