ABC Run/Walk #108 is April 19

by:  Merlin Anderson (abcrunner@frontier.com)

The next ABC Run/Walk (Adventure Benefiting Children #108) will be Sunday, April 19 at/for The Baby Fold starting at 8:00 a.m. (doors open at 7:30 a.m. to sign in).

The Baby Fold is located at 108 E. Willow in Normal.

April is Child Abuse Prevention month, so let’s “go the extra mile to help prevent child abuse” by running to the new end of the trail & back (the trail was extended to ½ mile past Kerrick elevator).

Suggested routes (going North on Const. Trail & back) include:

3 miles (to near where the trail turns at I55 & back), 7 miles (to the new end of the trail & back), 9 miles (beyond end of the trail & back).

This could be a great last training run for the Champaign half-marathon or marathon.

Water & Gatorade will be stored near the Kerrick elevator.

Back at The Baby Fold will be a wealth of food and drinks, including Meg’s coffee cake, Jenny Keen’s oatmeal, and much more.  Bring something to share if you wish.

As always, ABC runs are free.  Free-will contributions of any amount (cash or checks payable to The Baby Fold) are greatly appreciated.

100% of all donations go to The Baby Fold (because we bring our own food and have no awards, timing services, port-a-johns, or t-shirts to pay for).

p.s. Thanks a million to the 47 participants at ABC#107, who took steps to prevent child abuse by donating a wonderful total of $3,205 to the McLean County Protection Network.

Upcoming ABC runs:
ABC#109 (aka Multi-Sport day): Saturday, May 16 at/for Timber Pointe.

ABC#110: date tbd (probably June 28) for Boys & Girls Club (location tbd)

ABC#111 (aka Sibley pool party): date tbd (probably July 19), hosted by Julie & Brian Sibley, for St. Jude

ABC#112: date tbd (probably August 9) at the Schumacher’s, for the Seedling Theatre

ABC#113: date tbd (probably October 4) at Sugar Grove Nature Center, for Heartland Head Start

ABC#114: date tbd (probably December 5) at the Sparks’, for Adopt-A-Family
