100 Miles to Redemption Film
Thu, September 30, 2021 | 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM CDT
Join us for a one of a kind film event. We are infusing Austin with insights, inspiration, and hope about addiction recovery.
Meet Shawn Livingston:
Shawn Livingston is a combat veteran, decorated ultra-marathon runner, person in recovery from SUD (substance use disorder), and mental health advocate. After sustaining injuries while on active duty, Shawn found himself deep in opioid addiction. The documentary film 100 Miles to Redemption is the story of his first 100-mile trail race, when his motivation was nothing less than finishing the race and proving to himself and his family that he could put the addiction monster to rest once and for all.
Shawn has years of sobriety and is one of many that are living a life of recovery in Austin. At the event you will hear from Shawn as well as others that will inspire and inform. This film was created to decrease stigma, elevate conversation about the family affliction of addiction, and promote the healing power of fitness.
