Looking to get started running and want accountability, expertise, and structure to guide you? Need some people to run with? Join the Fleet Feet Albany 5K Beginner Program. This program's intention is to establish consistent habits, greater fitness, have fun, and help you to develop your running to meet future goals. The benefit of training with an experienced coach means that everything you do has a specific purpose. It’s a great feeling knowing that your training is always leading to progress.
The Albany 5K Beginner Program is designed for new runners or people who wish to return after a running hiatus. Experienced coach (and the owner of Fleet Feet Albany & Malta),Charles Woodruff, will provide fun, targeted training to get you across the finish line of a 5K race. The training group will meet on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:45 PM beginning on Monday, August 26, at Fleet Feet Albany (155 Wolf Road). The program concludes on Thursday, October 31.
A medical waiver needs to be filled out by your physician before the first training session.
Participants will be required to bring their own water.
Registration is allowed after the first week, but not after the second week (unless you have previous running experience and get permission from the coach -- we don't anyone to start over their head).
