The Pain in the Canal Challenge

This summer, Marty Pasternak is going to run the length of the Erie Canal from Albany to Buffalo to raise money and awareness in the fight against colorectal cancer. Fleet Feet Albany & Malta will be supporting this challenge by literally supporting Marty. We are providing the necessary shoes, stability insoles, socks, nutrition, gear, and advice to make Marty's mid-August run successful.

Join us at Fleet Feet Albany (155 Wolf Road; Albany 12205) on Saturday, August 14, from 6-8 PM for a launch party. We'll have beverages and snacks. Join us and invite your friends. The next day, we'll run a few miles as Marty starts his run. Join us on Sunday, August 15, at 7:00 AM, we will be joining Marty at the canal path off of Quay Street at the sign that says "Buffalo 360 Miles” to help him start his run. There is parking at the Corning Preserve Boat Launch and Jenning’s Landing. Please join us!

On March 31, Charlie Woodruff, the owner of Fleet Feet Albany & Malta, sat down with Marty to briefly talk about the Pain in the Canal Challenge.

Leading up to Marty's run on August 15-21, we will have features about Marty's preparation and the Pain in the Canal Challenge. Stay tuned!
