The latest update of the venerable New Balance 880 incorporates several improvements that make a great, versatile everyday trainer even better. First, the midsole is now constructed out of Freshfoam X which makes for a livelier, more flexible running experience. Next, the upper of the 880 is now knit. The Hypoknit mesh is less flexible than the sock-like knit on the new 1080, so it feels a bit more secure. As with all knits, it does a great job of conforming to your foot for the ultimate comfort on the run. The final major update to the 880 sees the implementation of an external heel counter for better control. The outsole of the 880 hasn’t changed that much; in fact, the flex grooves are in the same spots and it is as durable as ever. If you need an everyday trainer with great space for your foot, the New Balance 880 v10 is a shoe to try.
