This update of the Brooks’ Levitate — version 4 — remains a firm, responsive neutral trainer in their Energize category. Runners generally found the first several models of the Levitate to be a bit on the heavy side. This version uses a newly reformulated DNA AMP midsole foam that is twenty per cent lighter than the previous version of DNA AMP. The Levitate is getting lighter and it doesn’t feel heavy when you are running in it. If you find many shoes to be too soft and squishy, the Levitate will not disappoint. This is a firm shoe with great energy return. The Fit Knit upper is snug in a good way and will keep your foot locked down. The drop remains 8 mm and you will feel that classic Brooks step-in feel when you try out this shoe.
