Recent reviewers have remarked that the update of the GEL-Nimbus Lite is one of the best daily trainers from Asics that they have ever run in. It has nearly perfect padding around the tongue, ankle collar, and heel counter that is plush, but not bulky. The upper is a soft engineered mesh that fits, but is not overly form fitting — you’ll have some space for your toes. It is in the midsole that the GEL-Nimbus Lite 2 really shines. The base is a bit wider which contributes to some inherent stability for a neutral shoe. Enclosed GEL in the forefoot and heel combines well with Asics’ FlyteFoam, which incorporates cellulose nano fibers for resilience, to provide a cushioned, yet responsive, ride. For many runners this will be that perfect balance between cushioned and responsive. The offset or “drop” in the GEL-Nimbus Lite 2 is a more traditional 10 millimeters for men and 13 millimeters for women. If you haven’t been “wowed” by Asics in a while, you will love to get reacquainted through the GEL-Nimbus Lite 2.
