On’s unique cloud elements are individual pods beneath the shoe that collapse when your foot lands to provide cushion and then spring back into shape for a quick response.
On’s fully waterproof membrane is made with 100% recycled materials that will keep the elements out while letting your feet breathe. Plus, On added reflective elements so you can stay visible when skies are gray or the sun is down.
On Running took their iconic Cloud shoe and re-engineered it for a more comfortable fit. The new increased midsole uses a different CloudTec® configuration from years past which makes the shoe’s soft landings more stable than ever.
The On Cloud’s speed lacing system locks you in instantly and lets you conveniently slip them on without tying laces. This is a nice feature for people on the go. For instance, you can easily kick off your shoes when bringing groceries into the house. Plus, if the speed laces aren’t your style, there is a pair of classic laces in the box too.

Cloud 5 Waterproof
These are the second pair I’ve bought in this style - my first pair are starting to wear down a bit after two years of daily dog walks so I bought a new pair ahead of a trip to Europe where I expected to do a lot of walking. I’m heading home now after two weeks of 10k-20k steps p/day and my feet have stayed warm and dry despite very cold often wet and occasionally snowy conditions. I’m confident on all surfaces and have never slipped or lost my footing. They also look good - I bought the Arctic White which is a light grey colour and I’ve worn them everywhere.

Love these shoes
Was a bit wary of the price on these; but the added perk of them being waterproof sealed the deal for me. I have a high energy dog I have to walk every day rain or shine so these have been perfect for those gross rainy days. They’re super comfortable as well and I love that they came with regular and also elastic laces which is not something I thought I’d like but I love them. I think I’ll probably stick with the brand in the future.

Inability to Actually Try on Shoes in Store Before Purchasing Leads to Frustration
The shoes seem very nice. However I first ordered a half-size smaller than my regular shoe size per the advice on the On website and those shoes were too small. I placed a second order with Fleet Feet for the same size as my regular shoe size and these shoes fit better but still aren't perfect. At this point it's too late to place a third order to see if shoes a half size larger would be better. It's very frustrating that my local Fleet Feet stores don't actually carry the Cloud 5 Waterproof shoes so I could more easily try them on and get the right size in one purchase.

Run a LITTLE small
After reading reviews about not needed to size up on this waterproof version I didn’t and I think I regret it. Overall I love the shoes but these are definitely slighter smaller. I wish I had sized up by a half size.
