Nike built the Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail from the chassis of the iconic Pegasus 36 but added some off-road modifications to make it suitable for the wild.
Unique to the Peg Trail is an entirely new mesh upper that breathes during sweltering heat and drains after taking a dip in a puddle, and Nike added abrasion-resistant skins on the toe and heel to boost durability. Designers also gave the shoe separate Air Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for better stability and responsiveness.
Underneath, Nike gave the shoe more aggressive lugs with flat tops for increased traction on the trail and comfortable cruising on pavement.
With the same fit and feel as the Pegasus 36, the Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail is a serious trail running shoe disguised as an everyday trainer.

I just purchased these shoes a a couple weeks ago and have gone on a few runs runs in them and so far they feel great. I typically run about 3 miles, my running path is a mix of sidewalk running, and a paved road in the park but I dont find the sole to be too rugged for that. I plan to do some hiking in these as well and feel like they will hold up great for that. I think if you live in the city and run more than 5 miles at a time I would opt for something with a less rugged sole, but otherwise I think these are great!
I love these shoes! I can’t believe how comfortable they are. Great purchase!
I was attracted to the shoes because of the awesome colors but I wore them on a run today and now I love them even more. They were great on our neighborhood trails (rough rocky asphalt and lots of small rocks). They were comfy and provided me lots of stability.
