The signature Fresh Foam X midsole foam in the 1080 v12 is New Balance’s most cushioned Fresh Foam experience for ultimate comfort. It features 3% bio-based content that is made from renewable resources to help reduce the carbon footprint. New Balance tweaked the cushioning, dropped weight and improved flexibility so you can adapt to all of the different stresses that occur during a run.
The Hypoknit upper is breathable and stretchy to accommodate many foot shapes, making it a great shoe for those individuals with bunions or who like a wider forefoot. It is designed with strategic areas of stretch and support for a more dialed-in fit. The gusseted tongue and bootie upper hugs your foot for a snug, supportive fit.
New Balance redesigned the heel shape and reverted back to a more traditional, padded heel collar, so you get a more lockdown fit. The heel does still have a bit of a flair to make it easier to put on and get out the door.

What’s New
The heel is the biggest change in the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 v12. They moved away from the flexible, flared Ultra Heel and put in a more traditional, padded heel collar. New Balance also fine tuned the cushioning, weight and flexibility in the new 1080 v12 so it performs better when running.

Great shoes!!!
This is my second pair of the Fresh Foam 1080 V12’s and I absolutely love them!!! I’ve ran 2 half marathons, several 10K’s and some 5’s in them and they’re great for all distances. They would also be great for every day wear because of the great great cushioning and comfort. I also love all the cute colors they come in. I have two colors already and can’t wait to get more as I like to rotate my shoes between runs and I love to match my outfits. I’ve been wearing fresh foam 1080 v’s for years starting with I think the 8’s or 9’s and between my daughter and I we have eight pair of the v 10’s. The v 10’s are the shoe that got my daughter into running. She had tried running but her feet always hurt in other shoes she wore so I talked her into trying the New Balance fresh foam V 10’s and she did and she fell in love with running. I didn’t buy any of the v’11’s because we didn’t like how they felt in the heel, etc when we tried them on in the store at Fleet Feet our favorite shoe store. I was so happy when the v 12’s came out and they felt familiar and like the shoe I’ve been in love with for years. This is a great shoe - great work New Balance!!!
