Welcome the mud. Embrace the climb. Control the descent.
The HOKA ONE ONE Speedgoat 3 stands on the shoulders of the previous two iterations to be one of the fastest, toughest trail shoes on the market today. Named after Karl Meltzer—nicknamed “Speedgoat” for his record number of 100-mile trail race wins—the shoe is designed for anything the trail can dream up.
In the Speedgoat 2, HOKA opened up the toe box for a more accommodating fit and stuck it to a wider midsole for increased stability. Both those improvements made their way into the 3, but designers weren’t satisfied.
New in this third version is additional heel support and midfoot lockdown in the upper as well as seatbelt-like support on each side. The extra support creates a protective cradle to keep your foot in the Speedgoat’s sweet spot. In the Fleet Feet HOKA Speedgoat 3 review, one tester said the heel counter also helped provide a secure fit.
Beneath all the fit upgrades are aggressive 5 mm Vibram MegaGrip lugs that bite into any terrain and a puffed up EVA midsole that soaks up impact and provides stable footing.
Whether you’re battling the elements or cruising to the finish, the HOKA Speedgoat 3 will get you through.
If you need extra protection, HOKA made the Speedgoat 3 waterproof with the addition of a SKYSHELL bootie.

This is my 2nd pair of Speedgoat trail shoes. I don't run anymore but I use these shoes for my dog walking and my walking around shoes as well. Since I tried Hokas a few years ago I do not wear any other brand. Most support for me as well as incredible cushioning plus a very durable sole. They are relatively expensive but worth every penny!
I usually buy the Hoka Bondi 6, but I decided to add trail running to my training plan. These are the perfect solution. For me, with the Hoka brand shoes, I need to get a size larger in order for the arch support to fit my foot correctly. Still, no slipping on the heel and there's no rubbing on my toenails. Overall, an excellent shoe.
Love them! I am flat footed. Hoka’s are the best. I wore Nike and they were not the same. Nike had no arch support for someone who is flat footed!
