This technical trail shoe sports a responsive two-part PROFLY+™ midsole, which contains HOKA’s lightest and most responsive foam underfoot that will have you flying through the trails. An early-stage Meta-Rocker will roll you uphill and let you barrel downhill with ease.
Tackle hard trails thanks to the aggressive outsole—the Mafate Speed has 5mm lugs and Vibram® Megagrip with Litebase construction to give you the grip and traction you need to run surefooted on challenging routes.
A new single-layered jacquard mesh upper is lightweight, breathable and provides a dynamic fit that gives you confidence while running over roots and rocks. Plus, it has a gusseted tongue and rubber toe rand for protection.

The HOKA Mafate Speed 4 got a major overhaul—HOKA added Profly+, their lightest and most responsive foam to the midsole. They also added a Vibram® Megagrip outsole with Litebase Construction to make it lighter and more aggressive. Finally, they changed the upper to a single jacquard mesh, resulting in a snugger fit.

Great Design structurally and visually
My first pair of this design. Have purchased and worn allot of Hoka's since Achilles Tendon issues 3 years ago

Take the bad with the good.
The show is great in almost all ways. The issues I have are with how it’s made. I’ve gone through three pairs because the holes for the laces have no reinforcement and have ripped multiple times when tying my shoes. I also wish they came in a wide with.
