HOKA Mach X 2 Review: More PEBA, More Pep
The new HOKA Mach X 2 features the same Pebax® plate as the original version, but with a much springier ride.
When you’re feeling the need, the HOKA Mach X 2 brings the speed.
Built for your fast days, the Mach X 2 sports an extra-resilient midsole, increased rocker shape and an internal Pebax plate to propel you forward. HOKA’s speedy tech makes the Mach X 2 great for uptempo training or race days when speed is most important.
The breathable woven upper keeps your feet cool when your workout heats up, and a sleek collar maintains the low-profile look.

This is my second pair of the Hoka Mach X 2 actually, so I'm familiar with the fit, comfort, durability, etc. I am not an athlete. Rather I have a lot of foot-health issues... RA, plantar fasciitis, osteoporosis... and the carbon fiber plate helps support my feet to prevent further injury. I also have bunions and while in a perfect world the toe box would be just a tad wider, the soft fabric accommodates my weird foot structure.
These shoes feel snug when you put them on but once you get running they feel great. Definitely had an improvement with my speed. They feel light and agile. I will stock up on these! Great for race day or interval training.
I wear Hoka's exclusively so I was disappointed with this model. The material was thin and caused me to overpronate despite my orthotics. I blame myself for not noticing that it is a light runner's shoe. I usually wear the Bondi or Gaviota which has more substance. Gave it a low rating so that others will be aware.
