The upper of the Trace 2 gives you a better fit than ever. Brooks uses a new, engineered air-mesh upper for better breathability, which is perfect for running on the treadmill or elliptical in a hot gym. The 3D Fit Print gives more structure to the shoe and a nice lockdown if you decide that your shoe needs to pull double duty at group fitness classes as well as runs. Treat Your Feet
Nice comfy everyday athletic shoe. True to size and fits relatively close to foot. Doesn't feel quite as stable as my Glycerins but that maybe an unfair assessment because those have Currex insoles but I I haven't put any insoles in the Trace 2's yet. CAVEAT EMPTOR for anyone considering the White/Peacock/Poppy color combination: the photograph of the shoe which appears on the website is not accurate! Be prepared for a unmatched pair. The left shoe has a red sole/white stars the right shoe has a white sole/blue stars. This alternate color design extends to the rubber trim on the toes and sides of the shoe. When I opened the box I assumed it was a packing mistake and went back to the website to check the posted illustration for my selected color. Only one shoes is shown and there is no mention of the funky design element of alterate colors. While I personally thought this was a brilliant design I wanted to confirm whether this was deliberate or I somehow received a mismatched pair. The Website's online chat customer service agent did not know fore sure and suggested I call the store or the company. My local Fleet Feet store confirmed that Brooks does indeed sometimes make unusual unmatched designs but to be completely certain I should call company headquarters in Seattle. The Brooks customer service agent chuckled when I explained the reason for my call. He said yes the product was deliberately designed with the alternating colors. Some customers love it others think it's too strange and return the shoes. As far as I'm concerned the Trace 2s are keepers.
