Brooks Glycerin 22 Review: Fine-Tuned for Comfort?
The Glycerin 22, available February 1, has been updated with DNA Tuned cushioning, the same midsole foam used in the Glycerin Max.
The Brooks Glycerin 22 delivers an expertly balanced ride that combines luxurious comfort with responsive performance.
This max-cushioned trainer features all-new, nitrogen-infused DNA Tuned cushioning, engineered with innovative dual-size cell technology which allows Brooks’ designers to create different zones of cushioning. The result gives you plush landings in the heel that transition smoothly into energetic toe-offs, making your miles feel effortless.
In our Brooks Glycerin 22 review one of our wear-testers noted, "Overall, this shoe has a great ride. It’s smooth, soft, and has some nice pop to it.”

Great shoe. Have worn Brooks Glycerin 3-years. Love the cushion, ankle support, stability. Use for walking, daily use. Only downside to 22 version (vs. prior 21) - my socks now creep down at the back of the heal, over time, which impairs best comfort/fit. Hopefully can fix in next year's model. Even so, still a great shoe.
Great fit and feel! Wider toe box and narrow heel.
comfortable shoes
I have run or walked in Brooks Glycerin shoes for more than 10 years. Almost all of my purchases have been at the Brentwood TN store, which i HIGHLY recommend. I am currently in Glycerin 22s. Regarding this survery, my rating is a 4, not 5 primarily for 2 reasons. 1. My socks/feet really get wet when walking after rain. The entire front of the foot is mesh now/seems more noticeable than back in the Glycerin 20 and prior. 2. This may be my feet...but I am now between an 8 1/2 and a 9 and have ordered 9s for the Glycerin 22s (2 pairs). When i purchased the white ones in Brentwood (only a few months before these black ones) I noticed a size difference. A sales associate also mentioned the difference in size. Not sure what Brooks did differently with the 22s?! Overall, still "my" shoe though!
Amazing feel!!! I knew it was time for a new pair of shoes as my joints were starting to consistently ache on runs. Back to my usual and feeling good!!!
I have been wearing the Brooks Glycerins for many years because they are super comfortable. I wear them day 1 for anything I want to do. There is no break in period needed.
Very comfortable running or walking shoe with plenty of cushion.
Love it
The broader sole on these shoes has me tripping up and down stairs. I feel that I will get used to it, hopefully.
