My favorite running shoes
I continue to be a fan of the zero drop Altra Torins. I started with 3.5 and when I couldn't get any more pairs of those, finally decided to try the 4.5. Love the wider toe area, and super comfortable runnning fit. While the 4.5's aren't as roomy as the 3.5s (toe area is a tad narrower) it is still roomier than my Brooks or Hokas and offers a great run (long and short).
This is my second pair of these shoes. I don’t run but walk and these shoes are super comfortable. Plenty of room in the toes and cush in the sole.
Altar is the best athletic shoe I’ve ever wirn
This is the most comfortable, cushioned shoes. It lets your toes spread and and reduces constriction on foot. The. Footbed has just the right support and cushion for my foot. And I have high arches. Although this does not have huge arch support. Which is more comfortable for me. This is second pair. I wear most of the time now.
Give it a try
So I purchased the shoe and some insoles as well. First day I wore both and my feet were killing me. I put them away and a week later I decided to give it another go, without the insoles. It made a huge difference. My feet do not hurt at all. I have yet to try them for over 5k steps a day, so I can't tell how my feet will do. Also, I wish the shoe was wider in the back, its the only place where I feel it is tight.
New Topo and Altra walking shoes
I just bought Topo Phantom and Altra Torin 4.5 for their wider toe box (on the Fleet Feet recommendation) after a significant blister on my baby toe and added issues from another nerve in my foot. I have logged about 100 miles in these shoes. I love the roomier toe box and narrower heel these shoes provide!! I think I have found a new go to brand for my walking. No blisters; happy feet. I did put Superfeet inserts in as I need those, but the original liners were very comfy!
