Features

Get the perfect balance of cushion and support to reach your running goals with the Altra Provision 7.

The Altra EGO™ midsole offers cushion and bounce every step of the way. It contains Altra’s InnerFlex™ midsole grooves, which are designed to promote flexibility and movement. The Provision 7 also has Altra’s standard fit—the roomy FootShape toe box that allows your toes to splay naturally. Altra also used its Balanced Cushioning that has the same amount of cushioning in the forefoot and heel to run more naturally, and gender-specific tweaks to address the biological differences in men’s and women’s feet.

Feel supported and stable as you run, the Provision 7 has Altra’s GuideRail™ technology that provides medial and lateral support, but it is only there when you need it. This is perfect for people who have flexible ankles or overpronate and want a little extra stability.

An updated molded heel collar will keep your heels locked in, while the engineered vamp mesh is breathable and provides a great fit. Plus, the FootPod™ outsole technology is durable and encourages natural movement underfoot.

Whether you are new to running or run everyday, the Altra Provision 7 will give you a spring and support in every step.

What’s New

There were just minor tweaks made in the Altra Provision 7 to improve the fit and feel. The biggest change was that Altra modified the heel cup to make it a bit more secure and prevent any rubbing. They also made the shoe a bit lighter and bouncier for a better ride.

Who It’s Best For

The Altra Provision 7 is great for anyone looking for a lightweight stability shoe. It is ideal for those who have flexible ankles or overpronate and want to walk or run. It is also a good shoe for those runners who want to engage in a game of pickleball or do another activity with some side to side movement, but do not want to purchase an additional shoe.

Why You’ll Love It

You will love the light, bouncy, cushioned and supportive ride that you find in the Altra Provision 7 and how it helps you move and run naturally.

New favorite even over Hoka 🌟

This was my first pair of Altras after wearing Hokas. Totally changed my running gait while offering amazing support and plenty of cushioning. Immediately felt more push off and faster pace time.

These are the best!

These shoes are the most comfortable I have ever worn! The wide toe box is great for my feet as I have a bunion and hammertoe. And this particular model has great support for my flat and overprinting feet. I just got back from a weekend getaway and did hours of walking with no foot pain whatsoever. This will be my go to shoes from now on!

Good fit comfort and support

This shoe works well for me for my daily walk on asphalt and during my entire day. I would only wish for a sole texture/pattern that would not pick up so many small bits of gravel from the paths around my home.

This are my favorite pair of running shoes! This is my fourth pair in the last 1.5 years and I really love how it allows for my toes to have room so I never get blisters. Would strongly recommend!

Nice stability shoe

Great stability in the heel (often an issue for me).Good cushion without excess not bulky at all even for someone used to minimal shoes.Zero drop and lots of toe room helps prevent pain in my bunion.Laces are kinda hard to do and they look a little funky.Tread can handle some trails but is annoyingpy noisy on smooth surfaces.Arch support is better than like Escalante or something but some will still want to add a supportive insole.Overall a good shoe I plan to keep but it needs a couple tweaks to get five stars from me.

Great shoe.

I bought this shoe in May 2023. Just a few short weeks later I bought another pair. Now they are the only shoe I want to wear. I have high arches and the 0 drops makes a huge difference on my hips and lower back. So comfy. My experience has always prompted me toward Hoka or maybe Asics. But his one is a no brainer for my feet from now on.
