After a stellar debut, Altra redesigned the Escalante 2.0 to maintain a great fit but boost the ride.
Designers increased the decoupling of the Altra EGO midsole and outsole to improve the shoe’s flexibility, and they added a new knit upper that has more perforations for increased breathability. The shoe keeps its signature Altra Footshape toe box, but the new upper gives it a more secure fit.
The refreshed Altra Escalante 2.0 still sports the classic fit and function you want but subtle tweaks make it more capable than ever.

This is my second pair of Altra Escalante 2.0 shoes. I loved the first pair so much, I'm back for more! The shoes are light and fast, with very little drop and plenty of space in the toes. If you prefer to maintain good form by staying light on your toes with a midfoot strike, as I try to do when training or racing, these shoes should work well for you. No breaking-in time needed -- they're comfortable out of the box. Oh, and the color choices are fun, too!
I'm a fedex courier and bought these for work, I jump in and out of my truck all day long. These shoes are awesome, toe box is roomy, plenty of room for your foot to spread naturally. I also have a pair of Altra trail shoes that are just as great on the trail. No more sore feet, if you have wide feet this is your shoe! Zero drop also feels more natural.
Love these shoes. It’s my second pair. Received them fast. Love the color. My old ones are black.
Second time buying Altral's Escalante shoes. Very pleased both times.
Some months ago I purchased some Altra Escalante 2 shoes at the recommendation of Fleet Feet Aptos staff. They worked great and I'm still using them as I don't run all that much. The fit was excellent with plenty of room in the toe box. The cushioning was plenty but not too much. (I'd found the cushioning in the Tourin too much.) So when I saw them on sale I bought another pair. Thank you Fleet Feet!
