The women's Altra Escalante 2.5 is an easy riding running shoe that puts your foot in a natural position to run comfortably.
Altra built the Escalante 2.5 around its signature FootShape toe box. The shape of the toe box mimics the shape of your foot, which lets your toes rest and spread out easily inside the shoe.
An Altra EGO midsole cushion balances softness and responsiveness for a well-rounded ride, and the 0 mm heel-to-toe drop puts your foot in a neutral stance for a more natural ride. Topped with a knit upper for a sock-like fit, the women's Altra Escalante 2.5 is a comfortable and reliable everyday running shoe.

My new Escalante sneakers rock@ Great comfort, fit, and look. Couldn't be more pleased.
I had a pretty picky request for running shoes with zero/low drop but also had some cushion, and these are it! They work with the movement of my feet and feel great on runs- I’m usually running 1-3 miles. Also the tongue design on these are awesome- not stiff and not cushioned. (I hope these won’t be discontinued bc ill probably get another pair)
Altra Escalante 2..5
Love this shoe. I need the wide toe base. Only disappointed that I can’t get the gray two-toned color. When you have larger feet screaming orange is not my choice!
I also own an older style of the Altra Soltice road running shoes and I have the Lone Peak 4 trail running shoe. I wear a 9 in both of those but in the Escalante I wear an 8.5. I like that these have a little bit more cushion than the solstices and they’re still a super fun color. The weave material is nice and stretchy and I still feel like my toes have plenty of room to expand. I would definitely recommend these! Just check your size or maybe go try them on.
I don't run, but I walk - a lot! After literally wearing the soles off my 3 pairs of Altra Escalante 1.5, I was reluctant to try the 2.5 version because of negative reviews. I tried two other brands (one caused blisters!) before I decided to give them a shot. My feet sighed in relief when I put them on. Love them, love the wider toe box, love that the heel doesn't squish down when I put them on - only (silly) complaint is I wish they came in more color choices.
