Great fit, just the right size

I've run with packs from Salomon, Black Diamond, Osprey, and others and never enjoyed the fit. I'm average height (5'10") with a 42" chest and longer than normal upper torso. Needing a new lightweight daily pack I decided to try a Nathan, my first. I went with the large size and couldn't be happier. It's a perfect fit. Sits snugly on my shoulders, has plenty of adjustment in the straps, and results in everything (e.g., bottles, side pockets, etc.) being right where I want them and can easily reach them. It's incredibly lightweight, but the materials and construction are solid. Even the water bottle stem loops that others have had trouble with in the past remain firmly stitched. The real measure of success in a running pack for me is that I can throw it on and forget it's there; no bouncing or rubbing or awkward reach issues to constantly remind me that I'm wearing a pack. In this regard, the Nathan VaporKrar 2.0 4L Insulated Pack is a complete success.

I live in central Texas,

I live in central Texas, and for about 7 months out of the year a person takes their life in their hands if they run long distances without sufficient hydration. I used to run with a generic Camel Back design. It's doable, but the anterior weight distribution and the ergonomic fit of this Nathan vest is a game changer. Plenty of storage. Breathes well. And the fabric is gentle enough to make chaffing a non issue. If you do a lot of self supported running it's well worth the purchase.
