Saucony completely rehauled the Guide 17. They updated their stability mechanism by changing the platform to make the base wider and extend the sidewalls higher, while an asymmetric profile helps guide your stride. They also lowered the heel-to-toe drop from 8 mm to 6 mm to give you smoother transitions and more stability.
The changes didn’t just stop with the new stability design, Saucony added more PWRRUN cushioning underfoot to make it softer and more cushioned. Plus, a new upper construction provides 360 degrees of comfort.

Helping with PF pain
I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis pain for several months. I have shoes that hurt my heel because they are too soft, and shoes that hurt because they are too firm, but this seems to be my Goldilocks shoe. It also fits my wide, flat feet comfortably without heel slipping. I was worried about some YouTube reviews that mentioned the noticeable arch support; those kinds of shoes rarely work for me, but the arch support in these feels supportive rather than obtrusive.

Great cushioning, but I had a lot of heel slipping
The shoe felt good underneath my foot, but I felt like the upper did not surround the foot and I experienced a lot of heel slipping. Fleet Feet were great with their customer support and I was able to return the shoe. Many thanks.

Great Daily Trainers
I have flat, narrow feet and usually go for neutral or mild stability shoes. These shoes provide a good level of stability without being overly supportive. It’s more shoe than I usually like but is fairly light. The fit is good and the toe box is large. No blisters, and plantars has not been an issue. Men’s 11.5D (usually take 10.5 - 11).
