Get ready for speed. This racing shoe features Zoom Air units and a full-length ZoomX midsole to give you a bounce in every step. The newest Alphafly adds ZoomX foam under the Zoom Air unit, raising the heel-to-toe offset, giving you more bounce and improving the heel-to-toe transition.
The ZoomX foam is lightweight and responsive, allowing you to run fast while providing plenty of cushion to keep your feet feeling fresh during the late miles of a marathon. The full-length carbon fiber plate propels you forward and gives you smooth transitions throughout your stride.
Nike made the forefoot and heel a bit wider (it also fits a bit wider than the Vaporfly Next% 2) to give you a more stable platform, and the thin rubber outsole provides data-driven angles of traction placed precisely where you need it, so you can maintain your speed around tight turns.
The Atomknit upper has a contoured fit, while also being lightweight and super breathable. Nike tweaked it for a better fit using specifically designed lofted heel pods for a better heel lockdown and an integrated knit tongue with lofted padding to reduce lace pressure.

Nike gave away 700 pairs of the Alphafly Next% to those running the US Marathon Team Trials and got their feedback to make these improvements to the Nike Alphafly Next% 2. They changed the upper, making it a two piece construction that still fits like a bootie, but fits better by redesigning the heel counter and adding padding to the heel and tongue.
Designers raised the heel-to-toe offset from 4 mm to 8 mm as well as added ZoomX foam under the Airpod to make it more balanced. Cornering is also easier and faster with the Alphafly 2 thanks to a wider platform to make the shoe more stable and a data-driven outsole to give you more traction where you need it.
