Features

Get an edge on race day with the men's New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2.

New Balance designed the RC Elite 2 with a FuelCell midsole and full-length carbon fiber plate for maximum speed when you need it most. The FuelCell foam is lightweight and bouncy to help drive you forward, while the carbon fiber plate adds a propulsive feel to the ride.

Designers wrapped the racing shoe in a breathable knit upper for comfort, and they constructed a traditional collar for a familiar, low-profile fit. New Balance also added a light rubber outsole to improve traction on pavement so you don’t spin your wheels when you hit top speed.

With a midfoot cutout in the foam to further reduce weight, the men's New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2 is primed for PRs.

What’s New

New Balance refreshed a few major parts of the RC Elite when they updated it to the RC Elite v2. Most notably, the v2 has a new outsole to replace the rubber nubs on the outgoing version. There are a few aesthetic changes, like a slight tweak to the silhouette and midsole, but the v2 still brings the speed on race day.

Who It’s Best For

The FuelCell RC Elite v2 is meant for runners who want to break their own records. The lightweight construction and high-rebound midsole foam are best saved for race day when you need a little extra in the tank.

Why You’ll Love It

Runners will love the combination of bouncy FuelCell midsole foam and a carbon-fiber plate for their propulsive properties. When you’re running fast, you’ll feel the RC Elite v2 at work.

Similar fit as my other shoes. The extra stack is very friendly for my long runs. Slight offset of 8mm goes well with Rebel for intervals. 6’0; 190lb.

Great race or workout day option

For a Carbon plated shoe it is extremely soft and forgiving on your feet. The softness does make the shoe feel a little unstable but as someone who wears stability shoes as an everyday trainer it didn't bother me much. The super responsive foam is everything you would expect/want it to be so its definitely plenty fast but for me I feel its best used as a 10k and up racer I just think a firmer feeling shoe would be faster at 5k or less.

Great Shoe for my First Marathon

I've been training in the New Balance 1080 and Rebel V2s both excellent shoes so I was a fan of New Balance to begin with. When I ran my first marathon ever this year I was looking for a very comfortable and forgiving race-day shoe that still had some pop. I was on the fence between this and the Vaporfly or Alphafly but after reading many reviews this felt like the best option in terms of protecting my knees and joints. The shoes performed like a charm! They are incredibly comfortable and fast and easy to transition between paces effortlessly. This is my first experience with a carbon-plated super shoe so I can't really compare it to the Nike offerings or the Metaspeed Sky but I can say confidently that these are the best running shoes I have ever owned so far. Absolutely worth checking out!

Great shoe. Narrow toe box for anyone that has a wider foot like myself. You can really feel return from the shore at quickerrQuicker paces.
