The New Balance 840 got a major transformation. New Balance added its Fresh Foam midsole, increasing the stack height of the shoe to bring more comfort. They also changed the heel to toe drop from a 12mm to a 4mm because of the increased cushioning in the forefoot. Finally, the upper in a no-sew upper and a bit snugger in the midfoot.

I had gotten fitted for them years ago. A few years ago got fitted with a different "logo"...took them home...and went back to the nb 840...this time i have taken home two pair and considering a tjird!
