For easy landings and a snappy transition, the 880 v12 is soft in the heel with a punchy toe-off. New Balance’s Fresh Foam X is softer than ever and makes up the foundation of the midsole. A denser layer of foam sits on top of the forefoot. The result is an amazing combination of cushion and energy return.
This reliable daily trainer is durable and stays comfortable over long miles. The 880 has a lot of outsole to hold up to a lot of running and the plush upper uses a stretchy double jacquard mesh that has strategically placed zones for support and ventilation.

New Balance 880v12
I've run through 7 pairs of the prior version of these shoes (880v12) and hated that NB fundamentally changed the cushioning. But, after finally breaking down and giving them a try, I love them. Great for easy runs and even casual wear. They aren't for up-tempo running, but that's kind of the point. Well done, New Balance.

like really hard to find proper shoes for me
Great daily trainer for wide feet
This is the 5th pair of 880s I've purchased. Since I wear wide (2E), it's hard to find shoes that fit correctly. I've tried a few different brands that offer 2E size shoes, but I've found New Balance's 880 to be the perfect fit for me. These shoes have carried me from 30mpw up to 75mpw without issue. I'll keep buying them as long as New Balance keeps making them!
