The upper is a stripped-down, breathable single-layer creel jacquard engineered mesh that gives you a great lockdown around the midfoot and extra room in the forefoot. The flared heel holds the foot in while you pound the pavement. Plus, the gusseted tongue lays flat and is minimal with strategic cushioned pads.
Combining the best parts of the Mach Supersonic and Mach 4, the HOKA Mach 5’s uptempo ride will keep your legs feeling fresh and put a pep in your step.

First hokas
My first mach 5s are exactly as advertised. Cushiony like pillows but enough rebound for the occasional run. The unique thin tongue and extremely light design will keep me buying hokas for many years.
