The upper is a stripped-down, breathable single-layer creel jacquard engineered mesh that gives you a great lockdown around the midfoot and extra room in the forefoot. The flared heel holds the foot in while you pound the pavement. Plus, the gusseted tongue lays flat and is minimal with strategic cushioned pads.
Combining the best parts of the Mach Supersonic and Mach 4, the HOKA Mach 5’s uptempo ride will keep your legs feeling fresh and put a pep in your step.

HOKA combined the best parts of the HOKA Mach 4 and HOKA Mach Supersonic to make an even better Mach 5. They added PROFLY+ to the dual-density midsole for a softer and bouncier ride. HOKA also redesigned the upper giving it a single creel jacquard mesh for increased breathability, added a new heel for a better lockdown and a thinner tongue for more comfort.

Great looking, comfy pair of Hoka shoes
I needed to get a pair of daily pair of training shoes and these serve that purpose well. The cushioning feels great and the upper layer provides breathability of my feet. The colors really stand out! I don't recommend anyone to wear this in non-urban terrains if you have the white-colored version of this model.

One of the few running shoe options that provide a wide range of sizes especially <8. Many other shoes don't have inventory
First hokas
My first mach 5s are exactly as advertised. Cushiony like pillows but enough rebound for the occasional run. The unique thin tongue and extremely light design will keep me buying hokas for many years.
