This shoe will put a spring in your step with its bouncy cushioning system, trampoline-inspired outsole and plush, comfortable upper that wraps around your feet. One runner even mentioned this shoe made him smile all run long in our ASICS Novablast 4 review, saying ”it’s got a density to it, but it also feels very energetic and springy.”
Details
- Upper: A breathable woven upper delivers a plush, comfortable fit with plenty of stretch, ventilation and durability. The padded mesh tongue has a wing construction to help make the shoe fit better and reduce any tongue slippage. At least 75% of the shoe’s upper materials are made with recycled materials.
- Midsole: FF Blast™ Plus Eco cushioning provides plenty of bounce and comfort. It is made with approximately 20% bio-based content for more sustainability.
- Outsole: The AHAR® outsole is nice and durable. The outsole design was inspired by a trampoline to provide a more responsive bounce as you run.

ASICS made a few updates to the ASICS Novablast 4. They redesigned the midsole and outsole geometry to give you a more energizing ride. A softer and more breathable upper gives you a more luxurious experience, while the lightweight and energetic FF Blast™ Plus Eco foam is more responsive, bouncy and sustainable.

Good but not great.
It's a good shoe for long runs or recovery runs. It's not ideal for picking up the pace or faster workouts. V3 was the all-in-one shoe for various workouts and still a great shoe. However V4 is a good shoe.
