The men's ASICS GT-2000 9 is a lightweight stability shoe built for a smooth ride.
ASICS updated the GT-2000 9 with a fresh, clean look but kept the stability features that runners rely on. The ASICS Dynamic DuoMax system creates a stable platform over the life of the shoe, and the Trusstic system mitigates twisting for a more consistent transition.
Even with the stability technology, though, ASICS maintained a light weight. The men’s GT-2000 9 weighs 9.9 oz and the women’s model weighs 7.8 oz, making the shoe versatile for a range of different running workouts.
In the ASICS GT-2000 9 review, Fleet Feet runners praised the shoe’s light weight and smooth feel, saying it creates a confident ride for new runners and experienced marathoners alike.

Asics GT-2000 Extra Wide - Not really wide and are very tight
I need an extra wide shoe and I have been buying Asics for years. Usually a 4E fits me real good; however, with the GT2000, the heal is almost too tight for me to slide them on. The shoe is decently wide in the front; but the overall comfort is just not there. Maybe they will stretch out, but only time will tell. This is a moderately expensive shoe and should fit better if advertised as a wide 4E. I scored the shoe a 2, because it does look good.
I overpronate and am prone to plantar fasciitis. The Asics GT 2000 has been my “go to” shoe for several years. Since I’ve been wearing these almost exclusively, no foot problems. They fit well, have excellent support and are well cushioned. I get good wear out of them.
