Get ready for soft landings and snappy take-offs. ASICS’ new PureGel™ technology and FF Blast™ Plus foam give you pillow-like landings and responsive take-offs. Designers added 2 mm of cushioning underfoot to give you a plusher experience, while the PureGel pods in the rearfoot offer plenty of shock absorption during your run.

Fleet Feet runners loved the new cushioning in our ASICS Gel-Cumulus 25 review and how it added versatility to the shoe. One runner even said "for a daily trainer, they handled uptempo miles like a secret race-day shoe. I felt both light on my feet and protected."

The engineered jacquard layered mesh upper is stylish and comfortable with a gusseted tongue that wraps around your foot like a gentle hug. Plus, it’s environmentally friendly, with over 90 percent of the polyester materials used coming from recycled sources, making it one of the best sustainable running shoes.

What’s New

Following in the footsteps of the GEL-Nimbus 25, ASICS designers did a major rehaul of the GEL-Cumulus 25. They increased the stack height by 2 mm for more cushioning underfoot while using softer, more energetic and lighter-weight FF Blast foam to replace the previous Flytefoam midsole. The shoe also has a broader platform to give you a stable ride and accommodate more foot shapes.

New PureGEL™ Technology is lighter and softer than the previous versions, which creates soft and smooth transitions from heel to toe. ASICS designers also included gel only in the heel to reduce weight.

A new upper fits your foot better and is better for the environment. More than 90 percent of the upper’s polyester materials are recycled.

They also decreased the amount of rubber on the outsole and got rid of the flex grooves. All of these changes make the shoe significantly lighter than its predecessor.

Who It’s Best For

The ASICS GEL-Cumulus 25 is a neutral running shoe perfect for runners, walkers or anyone who stands on their feet for long hours.

Why You’ll Love It

You will love how the ASICS GEL-Cumulus 25 is lightweight and cushioned with an extra pop, making every walk and run feel like a dream.

Hear From an Outfitter

“Though not as cushiony as the Nimbus, the GEL Cumulus 25 in my eyes is not far from it. A good option for those that like cushion and not wanting to feel the road. The midsole flares out creating a broad base that adds to the cushion. I did the bulk of my long mileage base runs with this shoe. I feel like it's one of the best choices for an everyday trainer, not only for the cushioned long miles but responsive enough for the occasional tempo runs.”

This is a hard to find shoe. I’m so glad that I found it .

Like a firm cloud

This is my second pair of ASICS Cumulus and I love them. They are not too soft and not too firm… They are still in the breaking phase but so far they have treated my feet well.

Comfortable

These shoes are very comfortable for walking running and standing. I have put 50miles on them in 3 weeks and they still feel fresh every time. The only problem they have is the laces. They easily get undone even when using runners loop method and double knotting.

Great shoes! Horrible service.

I love the shoes! Getting them was an ordeal. They sent a the wrong pair the first time and told me to resubmit my order. Really? Then I had to follow up 10 days later to inquire about the return refund. It never appeared on my credit card bill which required another round of emails. They don’t offer a customer support phone number either. Not impressed with their web experience at all.

My Shoes

I really like the shoes a lot but the shoelaces come untied quite often even when they’re double knotted.

Good shoes for the buck!

So far so good.

So far so good.. responsive and cushioned . Have had multiple pairs over the years but recently have been running in Nimbus they are a little spongy but I like them and wanted to try a less spongy shoe. Love ASICS. Have been buying them for over 40 years

Comfier than Hokas Room for Semi-wide Feet Soft!

Dev 9 months ago Verified Purchase

Hands down the comfiest shoes I’ve ever warn. They’re Comfier than Hokas. Fit: True to size and they are a bit wide which is perfect for me. I have semi/wide feet. Too wide for narrow shoes and too narrow for wide shoes. So if you’re in the middle like myself these shoes are going to give you an A-Ha moment like this is how a comfortable shoe should feel. Upper: Thick some see this as a negative but for me it’s a positive. The tops of my feet are very sensitive to tight laces and the feeling of constriction that comes with it. But these uppers are thick and I can tie the shoes tight and they didn’t hurt the tops of my feet! I feel so locked down without any pain from the laces. They do get warm but I’d rather have warm feet than painful onesMidsole: soft cushiony and supportive. It strikes a happy medium between responsive and squishy. It’s weird when you walk in them they feel like they’d be slow and clunky because of how soft they are. But once i warmed them up on my run they felt bouncier and more responsive as my run went on. I’ve never felt so much comfort from a running shoe.
