Converted from Lone Peak
I have been trail running with Altra Lone Peak's for years. I love the tread and the wide toe box. But over time I've developed a knee issue and need some extra cushioning and a little more heel to toe drop than the Lone Peak (which is 0mm). The Experience Wild seem to be the perfect fit. The 4mm heel to drop and extra cushioning makes it feel more like a road shoe. I notice less "contact" with the trail that I don't like, but it feels better on my knee. Overall, this is probably my next trail shoe going forward.
Great!!!
Very comfortable & fits great!
Great shoe for older runners like me.
At 55 and getting in to the ultra scene finding shoes that work is tricky. I have been wearing zero drop for a long time but doing mostly hiking and I love the Lone Peak series. However, my achilles cannot take them any longer. So I decided to try the Experience Wild. I bought one pair and thought these are good but they were a little short at size 12 so I went up to 12.5. They're perfect fit me. 4 mm drop is great and the shoes are responsive and have enough cushion to protect my feet from rocks and I can move nimbly down hill. Honestly I love them. Keep making them please. They're great for the east coast!
