Altra Escalante 4
I've been an Altra fan for a long time. For me, the Escalante is a great shoe. They're light, I love the wide toe box. Love the zero drop. Just the right amount of cushion. At 77, I've cut back on running frequency and distance, but the Escalante works well for both running and walking.

My go to shoe
I’ve stuck with the Altra Escalante line from the first model through some disappointing models, and then to this current one. While I still believe the initial model was the best, this last one (v4) comes closest to replicating the initial model, with a bit more cushioning. Yes, the uppers wear through at the toe, but the shoe is comfortable and still wearable. This is my go to shoe (I have multiple pairs that I rotate)
