After a stellar debut, Altra redesigned the Escalante 2.0 to maintain a great fit but boost the ride.
Designers increased the decoupling of the Altra EGO midsole and outsole to improve the shoe’s flexibility, and they added a new knit upper that has more perforations for increased breathability. The shoe keeps its signature Altra Footshape toe box, but the new upper gives it a more secure fit.
The refreshed Altra Escalante 2.0 still sports the classic fit and function you want but subtle tweaks make it more capable than ever.

When combined with the fleet feet insole, they feel like they are custom made for my feet. Very comfortable!
I bought these shoes because I have a neurological issue with my right foot and haven't been able to wear any closed toed shoes for over 3 years now, even sneakers. I had gone to a local runners store, in my locale, for a pair and bought 2 pair just because the salesman wanted to make a sale. From the moment I went into the Fleet Feet store in SC, I knew it was a good place and they were concerned with my issues. They did not have what I needed in stock so they said it was easy to purchase on line. It was! Long story short, the salesman got it right and the pair i purchased have worked. I can wear them for long periods of time without the extreme pain of other shoes. They are extremely light weight and not cumbersome like the other ones I had purchased at the other store. So glad I found Fleet Feet and thanks to my daughter who introduced me to them!!!
Comfy. The extra space is nice. Wouldn’t run too much in them at first because the zero drop is different and used different muscles in the calf/ankle, at least that was my experience. Fleet feet delivery was quick.
My first pair of Altras and so far so good. They were immediately put to use against a 5k followed by a 4mi and I remain impressed.
This is my “go to” shoe—it’s great!
