Garmin Forerunner 45

Garmin Forerunner 45 in style BLACK

Features

The Garmin Forerunner 35 has long been a favorite among runners for its simple design and clean interface. But after several years on the market, it was time for an upgrade.

Garmin’s new Forerunner 45 is the refresh the entry level running watch needed.

Designers gave the new GPS watch a round face instead of the square version used in the previous version. But it sports the same accurate GPS tracking and uncomplicated use that made the 35 stand out. Plus, the new 45 has a wrist-based heart rate sensor built in, so you can monitor your ticker throughout the entire day.

In a review of the Garmin Forerunner 45, our runner loved how easy it was to switch in and out of GPS mode and to navigate around the watch’s screens. He also praised the easy-to-read screen and array of features that make it feel like a much more expensive watch.

Inventory problem

FF took the order and then told me they don’t have the item after. Wasn’t thrilled with that inventory issue. Was not offered a substitute.

I decided to order from Fleet Feet over other retailers since they provide a 60 day return policy. Placed the order and received the watch within about 3 days. I chose the Forerunner 45 as I just want a no frills gps watch for tracking my runs and it does a great job! Was a little hesitant with other reviews saying connecting to the app was troublesome and I agree there has been a few issues with that but overall it has worked well. The gps connects quickly and I am slowly learning how to navigate through the different screens but in terms of just going out and doing a run and logging a workout it is very simple which is exactly what I was looking for. Heart rate and other features for me are just bonuses. I'd highly recommend this watch and find the value for the money to be very good!
