ASICS Sonicblast & Megablast Review: Fresh Faces in the BLAST Family
ASICS has introduced two new members of the BLAST family — the Sonicblast and the Megablast. So how exactly do these two new models fit into the lineup?
The Megablast is ASICS' high stack, ultra lightweight trainer designed for runners chasing big mileage with minimal fatigue.
Outfitter's Tip: this is a UNISEX-sized shoe. Men's sizes are shown — women should order 1.5 sizes below their standard running shoe size. For example: for a women's size 9.5 shoe, order a size 8.
The ASICS Megablast brings the bounce to your runs.
Built for runners who want maximum energy return without limits on pace or distance, this shoe brings together ASICS' bounciest FF TURBOยฒ cushioning with a design that adapts to however you want to run. Whether you're building your base with easy miles or testing your speed on interval day, the Megablast proves that having fun and performing well go hand in hand.

I have about 30 miles on these shoes, and I have to say this shoe has almost ruined all other shoes for me to run in. This shoe does slow paces well, and then rewards you when you pick up the pace. It's not really a race day shoe but I'm contemplating running in these for a 1/2 Marathon. This shoe is definitely a buy.
The only shoe I'm using currently. I love it so much I bought a second pair. It's fast and propels me forward. It's comfortable but the stack height isn't too high in my opinion. It's unbelievable light and my favorite pair of Asics yet. Best of the year IMHO. Just for reference I also own the Yogiri S4+ (but that's plated and for race days only), Novablast 5, Superblast 2 and Hoka Clifton 9's. Hands down this shoe is ABSOLUTELY INSANE. I've seen some reviews where there are complaints about the toe box but I have no problem. I guess it all depends on the person. That said, with the price being so steep I would recommend going to Fleet Feet or whatever store you prefer and try them on rather than blindly buying them online. Hope that helps :)
Best shoe ever, at least for me. Cushioned but energetic. Used them for a Half Marathon a few days ago and will be using them for a full Marathon in April. I am an older, slower runner, so I was looking fir something non-plated for a full marathon and I found it in the Megablast. I also own the Superblast 2 but it does not compare to the Megablast. This one just hits the sweet spot between soft and responsive. This was my second pair of shoes ordered from Fleetfeet and both times the delivery was super fast. No issues whatsoever.
Sick show for doing long runs at a slower pace Very comfortable
More firm then evo SL, nova blast 5. More โpopโ then nova blast 5, and fuel cell V4, very durable, itโs not carbon plated but there is good energy return, Iโm an average maybe less then runner 69.5 inches height, 89kg, 7:30 mins mile/1.6km , 25 min 5km. Slight supinator. Overall great shoe see yall out there!
These are an amazing shoes for runners. If you think of running a Marathon you definitely have to get them!!
My toes hurt during my run, my feet were sliding forward, the asics mega blasts are not for me, I tried but a 250 dollar lesson
I bought this shoe after watching several reviews and I am IN LOVE!!! I have done an easy run, tempo and race and they excel at everything. These will definitely be my new go to shoe and I have already ordered another pair.
Best or the best
