“In 2016 I moved to Chicago to start my four-year graduate education in optometry. It was a new experience in a new city with new people. As much as I would have loved to, I could not pack and bring everything I wanted to from home. Luckily, I was able to bring something significant to me that did not need any trunk space, and it was running. In a funny way, running is the perfect metaphor for this new journey of mine. I have my eyes set on a new finish line and it takes many steps to get there. I was able to survive my first year and a half of optometry school. It has been the most rigorous mental and physical experience of my life. I utilized the same lessons running has taught me throughout my life. Running has equipped me with the tools to break down many other types of barriers. Running is a simple activity but has a lot of valuable life lessons nested in it. I run in HOKA because it allows me to enjoy something important to who I am. It's been a motivating force making sure that I maintain running as a priority in my life. There are only so many minutes in a day and at times there seems to be an endless battle from all directions for it. Fleet Feet South Loop has been a hearthstone for my love of running and I feel lucky to be a part of the Fleet Feet family.” – HOKA Fan Tu Ngo from Fleet Feet Chicago
