“I was never a runner. I played a lot of fast-pitch softball in my wayward youth, and my runs were the distance between bases. When that went away, I started looking for something to keep me in shape and the weight off. Reluctantly, I turned to running. I ran mostly 5Ks, but never had aspirations of running any greater distance than that. I listened to race results during my daily commute, and the Dallas Marathon was coming up. I decided if I was going to run a marathon, now was the time. Soon after, Fleet Feet Tulsa opened, and they were looking for coaches for their half marathon and marathon training programs. I applied and got the job. In my wildest dreams I could not have anticipated what was in store for me. I absolutely enjoyed coaching. I read everything I could on training and training results. I tried to pass along as much knowledge and experience as I could. I loved trying to help people get to the finish line. Coaching gives me purpose and direction.” - HOKA fan Paul Cox from Fleet Feet Tulsa - Broken Arrow, OK #humansofHOKA
