“In 2014, my life saw a variety of changes including the end of a long-term relationship, a job change and a relocation to Chicago. Running served as the one constant in my life during a period where everything else seemed to be in flux. I had been running with some regularity prior to this transition, but running began to play a much larger role in my life. Adjusting to a new city with a new job was fairly stressful, but the running community in Chicago is a phenomenal group of people. Meeting so many people with common interests and a similarly active lifestyle was a huge help in feeling more settled. Running has become an integral part of my life. I run six days a week and am pretty consistent in doing so first thing each morning, even when I am traveling for work. The time I dedicate to running is time I take for myself. Running offers me time for mental clarity before starting my workday. Running is an outlet for stress management, a way to keep active and a time for socializing with friends.” - HOKA fan Jen Sandberg from Fleet Feet Chicago - Old Town, IL #humansofHOKA
