“I have always been an endurance junkie. It all started when I was in middle school, and I would ride my bike to the top of the local ski hill. As I grew older, I still loved biking, but then I took a stab at triathlons. I used to hate running — mostly because it hurt and took a lot of effort. Then in 2012, I was invited to a trail run, and I have been a trail runner ever since. Trail running is difficult and visually stimulating. In 2015, I was asked to pace Gunhild Swanson at Western States. That year she was the final finisher with only seconds to spare. It was such an inspiration, and I hope I am still running when I am in my 70s.” - HOKA fan Dave Dutro from Fleet Feet Coeur D’Alene, ID #humansofHOKA
