AJ Mitchell

“Without running and rolling, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m in a wheelchair and have had a lot of medical and emotional issues, but now that I roll, I am healthier than I ever have been. Nine years ago I had a kidney transplant. I persevered by not thinking about my past and instead focusing on my happy future ahead. I am now nine marathons and over a dozen half marathons into my new life and have no sight of stopping. Running has changed my life in a very positive way. I have more friends and am more confident, and my depression has mostly disappeared. I am very competitive, and my dream is to race the Boston Marathon and compete for the USA in the Paralympics.” - HOKA fan AJ Mitchell from Fleet Feet Modesto, CA #humansofHOKA
