Over 40 years ago, Briggs came to Chapel Hill, N.C., from Vienna, Austria, for what was supposed to be a six-month stint. Luckily for Fleet Feet, that stint turned into a four-decades-long career in finance in the Tar Heel State that eventually led her to Fleet Feet in 2016. Prior to Fleet Feet, Briggs worked at the same prestigious specialty food retailer for 33 years, beginning first as a part-time receptionist before ascending the ranks to become general manager of a business that grew into a $30 million operation.

Nowadays, Briggs oversees all functions and team members of the CFO in a Box team, Fleet Feet’s comprehensive financial and accounting service that currently supports over 100 owners. Briggs also serves as the treasurer on the board of directors for the Compass Center for Women and Families, an organization that provides services and support, including career and financial education, domestic violence crisis and prevention programs, and youth health programs for those in need.

When she’s not traveling to Europe, walking along the river in Hillsborough, N.C., or cheering on the Tar Heels, Briggs enjoys spending time with her close-knit friends and family, including her daughter, Christine.
