CEP Gear

CEP gear uses targeted, graduated compression to help you perform your best whether you are looking to run farther, recover quicker or speed up the healing process after an injury.

Compression can help increase blood flow, reduce swelling, improve circulation, stabilize the muscles and remove lactic acid quicker—all of which reduce fatigue and help you recover faster. Best known for their compression socks, CEP also designs sleeves, tights and clothing in a variety of lengths, colors and styles so you can find the perfect fit.

What is Graduated Compression?

Compression is a buzzword that is often used to describe sportswear that is tight-fitting. While there is no product standard on what can be considered “compression” in the sports industry, there is a difference when compression products claim to have health benefits like improving circulation, speeding recovery, preventing injury, etc.

Compression socks and leggings should be tightest at the ankle and gradually become less constrictive towards the knee and thigh. By applying the perfect amount of compression on surface veins, arteries and muscles, the circulating blood is forced through narrower circulatory channels. As a result, the arterial pressure is increased, which causes more blood to return to the heart and less blood to pool in the feet

Other compression profiles proved to have insufficient levels of compression to allow for any medical benefits or performance advantages. All CEP socks have graduated compression to help you perform your best.

Benefits of Compression

CEP has been working for decades with sports medicine specialists and professional athletes to develop its array of products. Here's how compression helps you be a better athlete:

  • Recovery. Improved blood circulation and speedier lactate metabolism help refuel muscles with oxygen and nutrients
  • Stability. Compression helps stabilize tendons and ligaments and reduce muscle vibration
  • Awareness. Constant pressure makes you more aware of how your body moves
  • Blister prevention. Precise, anatomical fit acts like a second skin to ward off blisters and pressure points during activity

About CEP

CEP’s parent company, medi, is based in Bayreuth, Germany, and has been a world leader in pharmaceutical compression since 1951. Backed by science and trusted by doctors, the German-engineered products are created with integrity and designed with athletes in mind.

All CEP products are manufactured in a medical facility, where the standards of pharmaceutical compression are required. Each sock undergoes 16 quality checks and rigorous testing to ensure these requirements are met.

CEP socks are built anatomically, fitting the foot perfectly so there is no slipping or seams to cause discomfort or blisters. The materials in these socks also wick moisture away from the skin, so on hot days the excess moisture evaporates and your legs stay cool. On cold days, the fibers lock in air, which isolates the body from the cold temperatures, keeping your legs warm.

Compression zones in the ankle, arch, and Achilles provide unmatched support and reduce swelling and pain in the joints. The stabilizing effect from the compression is perfect for injury-prone ankles, sore arches, and offers relief from Achilles tendonitis.
